More to Make the Solar Choice

It’s widely anticipated that April onwards will see a massive increase in those making the solar choice here in the UK. April will see the UK’s feed-in tariff, enabling consumers to sell their surplus energy to the grid at a premium rate.

There’s a common misconception that the UK climate does not allow for solar panel installation. This, however, is indeed a misconception. The world’s solar power leader, Germany, has a very similar climate to the UK. And while it is true that solar panels perform at their optimum under a blazing blue sky and hot sun, they run largely off radiation from the sun. Even in the UK we get 65% of the radiation experienced in Spain and 55% of tha experienced on the equator. So just because it looks a little dull out does not mean that you’re completely unable to generate your own power through solar panel.

The feed in tariff will hopefully encourage more people to take the eco-friendly option and begin generating their own power.
