I was up on the lift yesterday installing better blades on the new windmill. They are machined aircraft aluminum and have much more surface area so it will turn the wind generator much easier, the PMA generator I am using on the first one takes a much higher torque to get it to turn.

If you read my last post you saw the black blades I tried, the “Raptor” Blades. The Rare Earth Magnets are really strong and have a real pull to them and in our low wind the “Raptor” blades just didn’t do the job for this PMA.

We didn’t have much of a breeze yesterday but the blades turn the windmill great as you will see in this short video taken from the cell phone while on the lift.

I really don’t understand why we do not use more of the free and God given energy resources we have been provided. I could run off the grid and keep all the energy I create for myself but I think that plugging into the grid and sending it back will maybe help so I am tied in. I know many say “Oh yeah, one or two windmills…” I am going to create a wind farm if I have my way 🙂 will not do anything for the greater good but if we all had some sort of solar or kinetic power to help lower our consumption on our natural resources this would make a huge difference!

I can say if we had windmills in the Gulf and it crashed and fell over we wouldn’t have this giant mess to clean up, instead the fish would be saying “Look the new condos have just arrived and they are ready to move into”!!! We wouldn’t have every agency in the USA down there trying to clean up this slimy mess.

Hopefully more people will try to look into making or building something to help join the energy revolution. Why be dependent on big oil and gas companies. I know if I can spend 6 to 8 months learning and researching how to build and make this happen anyone can. I hope there are more out there doing what I have begun to do if you have something to share leave it in the comments.
