Saddam Hussain Hanging Video

I was surfing around the net today and ran across this link to the hanging of Saddam Hussain. It was taken by, from what I am to understand, the head security officer with his moble phone.

It is quite graffic and you see the whole execution. It appears to be real but now days who knows? Lets face it Saddam Hussain was not a nice man he was a cruel and vicious dictator with no regard for human life.

Were things handled properly? I think so. He was tried by his own people and that’s the verdict they came out with. I think it was right to hang Saddam but some don’t agree. I have read on other blogs the quoting of the sixth commandment, you know “Thou shalt not kill” and that the death penalty is wrong. But, how many people have been killed in the name of Christianity? How many wars have been fought? Take what the Early Americans did in the infant years in the United States to those “hethinistic” Indians…

I don’t have the answers but I still think that if one person kills another or is head of a group that kills people, that person must be dealt with and if it takes a hanging to get the message out that this will not be tolerated, not by even from the head of a country then so be it. Some one told me that it is against some sort of treaty or whatever that you are not allowed to hand over the captured head of an army to it’s enemy and that the U.S. was wrong in handing Saddam Hussain over to the people Iraq… HMmmm I don’t recall Saddam Hussain being at war with his own country, isn’t that who we handed him to?

Tell me what you think.

The cartoon, Saddam Hussain still scares!, was found on Apache

I am going to add the execution video, it’s too graphic for this site, but I guess you don’t have to watch!

  1. Interesting post Wolfbernz and the cartoon is cool, I think that hanging a dictator certainly gets people thinking and talking about life/death ethics, that’s a good thing, but the death penalty never is. Peace

  2. I don’t really know how I feel on this one. The mess that the US and allies have made of Iraq leave me befuddeled. I think ALL religion provokes more harm than good anyway, that and one race feeling superior to the others. hmmm

  3. Hanging was too good for him. The man killed around a half million of his own citizens that we know about so far and stole oil for food money to build another dozen palaces, and that led to the starvation of 500,000 children. The only justice possible for a creep like him is death. We commend his wretched soul to God for His judgement.

  4. who are we to impose our idiology on them .they have been fighting for thousands of years over religion.it’s obvious that a country like iraq needs a leader that rules with an iron fist.look at the mess we have created.by hanging saddam it reasures the arab world that we only care about dominatind and controlling that part of the world that is oil rich.if we care about their freedom why didn’t we get him out 25 years ago.we are a bunch of hipocrite and greedy oil hungry nation .I’m not surprised to see how much they hate us around the world.
