Sailing From Deltaville, Viriginia, to Hampton, Virginia

Queens creek is such a nice anchorage. Everyone else goes into the Deltaville anchorage where there are plenty of marinas and other anchored boats. The nicest part about Queens Creek is we had the place to ourselves. We had been here before so we had our spot picked out already.

It was a very quiet night, still as can be, we did get to play with the new iPad and the anchor alarm app… lol it went off for no reason a few times, operator error I’m sure. It’s ok we should get up and check the boat throughout the night anyway to make sure we are still where we should be and not on the beach 🙂

So we left out around 6:30 but warmed up the engine starting around 6:20 am.

The engine was running but not like normal something was just not right! With five eighths of a tank and two five gallon jury jugs on deck we left for Hampton, Virginia. If all goes well we should make it but it is a long way and again days are short. I really hope we make it before dark. At least with the AIS app for the iPad we can be seen.

Well, we made it by two thirty in the afternoon despite the carb issues we had. Come to find out the water separator was full so I emptied it and reinstalled it and it ran like normal. We have found the cause of the engine issues. We picked up nine gallons of bad fuel in Solomans Island.

We took a walk and brought a couple gas jugs with us to fill up at the local gas station for cheap.

We also did a pump out of the holding tank, grabbed showers and went to bed early, we were both tired.
