It is a crazy world we live in and if we don’t wake up soon we are all going to be in trouble. Nobody wants to acknowledge global warming, it is the old “this is not happening and I am not here” routine. Don’t get me wrong, I love the life I enjoy in this great country of ours. However, we the people need to educate ourselves about what is really gong on. Hard to do when the media cannot present reality without losing their jobs. It used to be that journalists would die to bring us the truth. Where are the body bags?

The world is no longer run by governments but by large corporations. At the head of these corps are CEOs who must show a substantial profit each year in order to rationalize their huge bonuses. Cut throat and willing to do anything to keep their jobs these corporate leaders get us in our pockets coming and going.

Anyway, to comment on BRL’s entry I feel that as long as Americans can drive their SUVs while picking up their $5.00 cups of unfair trade coffee while munching their egg mc’muffins the world is doing fine. Does anyone realize that the reason the hamburgers are so cheap is because they grow their beef in the RAIN FOREST.

These corporations are shooting themselves in the foot by squeezing middle America until there is nothing left. Ours is a consumer driven society. What happens when we have no income to consume with? Some say that we will have a world of the haves and the have-nots unfortunately; there will be many more have-nots.

Ninety-six percent of the people in my area are renters with no hope of ever owning a home. Where are our children going to raise their families?

Santa Barbara is broadening their laws concerning the homeless for “safety reasons”. People will have two hours to remain at a certain location or three hours for the entire day before they have to move on or be cited. Benches are being removed so that there is no place to sit down. Yes, ticket the homeless. When they don’t have the money to pay we can jail them. That will teach those darn homeless.

Where are the rich? Why aren’t they concerned? One percent of the population own ninety-eight percent of the nation’s wealth. How do they sleep at night knowing that if they got together they could change the world? Opra where are you? Oh I know, she is sitting in her fifty million dollar house on the Santa Barbara beach, while Trump is making a fool of us while we watch his new show and he rakes in even more money.

Someone once told me that the poor are here to scare the shit out of the middle class so that they keep on working for the rich.
