Vote For McCain?

Well, as I see it, the media has already chosen the winner of this years Presidential race with all their polls – but let’s not forget what happened in the Bush-Gore race 8 years ago!!! In a race this close are any of the polls trust-worthy?

I understand the whole fresh face and needed reform Obama campaigns about, but I don’t think you can hold one man responsible for another man’s mistakes (meaning “McCain is just another Bush”) When McCain said he “voted with Bush 90% of the time” I’m fairly certain that he was just referring to certain issues, not across the board. Mistakes were made in this administration, but does that mean that these mistakes will continue or be repeated by McCain , IF he’s to become president? We won’t know unless he is elected… McCain said he would not continue on the current administrations course.

All the politicians argue their point, one way or the other, but when it comes down to it, everything the President presents MUST get voted on and passed in the House or Representatives and the Senate. With this being the case and the people want change, do we vote Obama for President and vote the rest as a straight Republican ticket so he doesn’t have complete control? Or do we give the man who was born and raised in the United States, fought for his country and worked in public service his whole life, someone who definitely has earned the position and has the qualifications, a chance to be President? If the House and the Senate are under the control of the Democrats, wouldn’t that help to keep a Republican president in check?

I’m still undecided, I know the election is Tuesday, and yes I am going to vote, but really – does anyone really understand all the political nonsense they keep talking about?

Honestly, are we all dumb enough to think that an answer to our economic problems is one of these candidates tax plans? They both sound unrealistic to me. How can we fix the federal deficit by decreasing the amount of money we give our government. Do you really think that a tax break of $100-$600 is really going to help our economy and restore lost jobs? It isn’t.

Is there anyone other than me waiting for the 4th to fill-up their car? I’m predicting that in my area I’ll see at least one gas station with prices right at $2 per gallon and on the 5th I’m predicting that those gas prices start to climb right back up to $3 and almost $4 per gallon.

Is McCain too old for the Job and Palin too inexperienced? If that’s what you’re worried about don’t you think that the president has awesome doctors and – God Forbid -if something were to happen to McCain, wouldn’t you think that Sarah Palin would have the best opportunity in the world to surround herself with people who makeup for her inexperience. Better yet, wouldn’t her inexperience give her the “outside-of-the-box” advantage that everyone else in this race doesn’t have? And why are people criticizing her choice to confide in her husband before she makes a very important decision. Sometimes we all talk to a loved one before we make a decision because we trust their opinion and we trust that they know us and have our best interest in mind when they help us make our decision. That’s what friends and family are for, to love and support us. Why are they holding that against her?

Is our country ready for Obama to be president? In our current economic state is it wise to risk the possible unrest caused by his race? I’m NOT Racist, I’m a realist. I understand that this country is full of bigots, racists, sexists, and down right pigs. I know that anyone reading this post knows that segregation was the biggest issue this country ever faced – has it been long enough since then that everyone realizes that the color of one’s skin shouldn’t matter? Or will Obama have more death threats and assassination attempts on his life than any president in the history of the United States? And Why is the media playing up the color of his skin? I would think that they would have decided not to mention it altogether.

I have left out Biden. Want to know why? Because I think Joe Biden is a good man. Obama was right in choosing him for a running mate. He’s dedicated, experienced, and dependable – and, yes I’m really biased because he’s from Delaware.

I must say that the Obama half hour on TV the other night was great. He hired some great video editors and producers for that, but should we be swayed by a television production?

Just a thought.

So, where do you stand in this election?

  1. I think it would be great to have Obama as president. It would be historic and I would be able to see it happen. Then again if McCain wins well there is a strong possibility that we might have the first woman as president. That would also be history in the making and I would live to see it! I don’t know for sure who is the best one for the job all I know is that things need to change. Just a little food for thought.
