Nanticoke Riverfest in Seaford, Delaware

The 12th Annual Nanticoke Riverfest. It started Friday afternoon about 3:30 pm and went on until 11:30 pm saturday night. It was a great time. Everyone was in a festive mood and to my knowledge there were no serious incidents. I could have had more pictures, but I was strapped to a barbaque the whole time!

The Seaford Police were out in full force and did a great job as did the Delaware State Police who were there lending a hand.

The festival had carnival rides, hotrod cars, Harley motorcycles, lots of food, live bands playing and a dunking booth that all our local dignitaries were taking turns in.

I met Delaware’s Treasurer, Jack Markell, what a nice guy, he stopped by with a friend of mine Tom Chapman. He seemed to be one of those rare people who showed an honest interest in other people. We talked about my sons’ Eagle Scout project and then they were on their way.

Danny Short and his wife were regular visitors. Danny is running for Delware’s 39th district House of Representatives. He set up a field of flags, which was really neat. You can visit his website at DannyShort.com

The festival continued thru the day. It rained for about thirty minutes, just enough to get everything wet and then the sun came out, it was humid but all in all, it nice out.

Later on in the day, Frank Raskaus from Franklin Bank introduced me to a man name Jan Ting who is running for the U.S. Senate. What a great guy and very personable! You can visit his web site at voteting.com
