As I’m rummaging through the store looking for the nonexistent brown sugar and maraschino cherries on Thanksgiving this year I had to remind myself- This is what I get for procrastinating. I am substituting though with pure sugar cane sugar… it’s brown right? And so far so good, but my substitution of black cherries for the maraschino has turned my ham purple… hopefully no one will notice after it been carved – HOPEFULLY!! I’ll probably be teased about this one for years.

I got pies – our charge for the family Thanksgiving this year. We’ve made pretzel/strawberry salad (with an accidental twist of using a graham cracker crust), a traditional pumpkin (Thank you Libby’s), a pecan pie, an Oreo cheese cake, chocolate fudge, and a pineapple up-side-down cake.
